RewardDollars is a customer-loyalty program for the consumer packaged goods (CPG)
industry. The brainchild of Boomerang Marketing President Michael Simpson, and
several of his colleagues in Minneapolis, Minn., RewardDollars will allow manufacturers
of grocery items to reward buyers, track their buying habits, and offer incentives,
all without even the cost of a postage stamp.
When a manufacturer signs up to be a RewardDollars participant, it will stake
exclusive RewardDollars claims on its product categories. Then, somewhere on the
inside of its packages or labels, the manufacturer prints a personal identification
number that consumers can use to register their purchase for monetary credit on
the RewardDollars Web site.
Credits from various purchases from different manufacturers combine in a single
account. Consumers will be able to spend their RewardDollars at various participating
e-tailers, including the Gap, Hallmark, Amazon.com, and CDnow.com, which can be
reached via links from the RewardDollars site.
Raspberry Media was selected by Boomerang Marketing to design and implement
the RewardDollars customer loyalty web site. Raspberry Media worked with Boomerang
Marketing to streamline the entire online experience so that the site would be
easy to use for people who may have never used the Internet for shopping before.
